**About the role**
This position will play an integral role in influencing organisational policies, plans, strategies and initiatives that create a healthy, resilient and socially connected community.
You will be part of a dedicated and passionate team that is responsible for the development, review, reporting and implementation of range of strategies plans and initiatives including:
- Gender Equality
- Social and Affordable Housing
- Family Violence Prevention
- Community Safety
- Community Wellbeing Plan
- Other plans that may be developed across Community Development
In this specific role you will focus on implementing and monitoring the Gender Equality Action Plan, Social and Affordable Housing and Family Violence Prevention promotion and initiatives, however you will also support the team with other strategies plans and social policy initiatives.
- Your main responsibilities will include:_
- Engaging with key stakeholders on social policy issues, with a key focus on Social and Affordable Housing, Gender Equality and Family Violence Prevention initiatives to support the development of integrated responses to community needs.
- Developing and implementing a range of evidence-based policies, strategies and plans to deliver social outcomes.
- Build the capacity of partnerships, stakeholders and internal staff, to effectively implement gender equality, wellbeing and social policy plans, actions and strategies
**About you**
You will be proactive, adaptable and resourceful whilst working across the organisation. You will be results focused and have an ability to prioritise, communicate effectively, work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
You will also have:
- A tertiary qualification in the social sciences, health promotion or community development disciplines
- Experience in researching, developing, analysing, implementing and reviewing social policy, preferably in a local government setting
- The ability to innovate and think outside the box
- Strong conceptual and analytical skills
- Capacity to write accurate, timely and audience appropriate strategic document
- Employee Working with children Check (or willing to obtain)
