**_The Role_**
To manage and maintain the clinical database, assist with the development of new aspects of the database, ensuring data integrity, reports, related troubleshooting and problem solving. Specific responsibility for the collection and recording of clinical and pathological data concerning patients treated in the Department of Head and Neck. Works collaboratively with the Clinical Informatics and Technology Service, with the head of Department, and the Clinical Trials co-ordinator.
**_Your Key responsibilities will include;_**
- Accurate collection, quality, and maintenance of clinic pathological data, and recording and entering of data onto the database
- Active involvement in weekly Head and Neck MDT to ensure cancer staging is recorded in the database and MDT notes for each patient.
- Liaise and collaborate with clinical staff, other data managers, assist with clinical research, and the Business Intelligence team.
- Liaise with Clinical Informatics and Technology Service on integration with the Lifehouse Oncology Information System (LOIS) where required.
- Work collaboratively with Clinical Informatics and Technology Service to ensure clinical databases conform to accepted technical standards, meets privacy and confidentiality legislative requirements
- Develop policies and procedures for the collection and analysis of data
- Production of reports for audit and clinical research.
- Continually develop data management strategies.
- Assess system performance and make recommendations for software, hardware, and data storage improvements
- Extending knowledge of Data Management to provide ongoing refinement of processes to improve operations
- Participate in Clinical Informatics and Technology Service Education and Training initiatives
- Provide education and training in the use of the data to key stakeholders.
- Facilitate productive relationships with and between key stakeholders, during the planning management and implementation of business change.
- Collaborate with business users

**_To be successful in this role, you will need: _**
**_Essential_**
- Prior work experience in a Data Management
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent documentation and support documentation skills.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Advance knowledge of Health Care systems and NSW health policies and procedures pertaining to them.
- Database management and reporting
- Critical-thinking and problem-solving
- Ability to contribute both independently and as part of a team

**_Desirable_**
- Bachelor degree in statistics
