Requirements / Special Conditions
- Minimum of five years' experience as a class 1 or higher licenced builder
- A current QBCC approved 'Residential Building Inspection' license or ability to obtain such within the three month probationary period and
- A current Class C Drivers Licence.
Key Responsibilities
- Developing and maintaining positive relationships with Customers (internal and external) through effective and regular communication, sound negotiation and achievement of program outcomes, including maximising revenues from the delivery of building advisory services.
- Review and analyse dwelling construction project proposals and recommend to Customer Experience and Delivery staff whether they meet compliance provisions and represent value for money. Principally, this will include requests for residential property modifications or major upgrade or renovation works.
- Coordinate and review externally provided pest and building inspection reports for compliance as part of the Public Trustee consumer protections process. Provide independent assessment and recommendations to Trust Officers for remedial works based on documented prioritisation factors and risk assessment.
- Undertake inspections and report on the general condition of Customer and/or corporate built assets upon instructions for Customer Experience and Delivery staff; this includes accurately pricing small scale upgrade and maintenance projects for both in-house and external delivery.
- Develop specifications, document and tender works and where directed, project manage or supervise the delivery of building works to Customer assets.
- Arrange and inspect maintenance performed by private contractors on Customer occupied properties, Estate and / or Trust rental properties and where required on corporate assets.
- Arrange and carry out inspections of dwellings proposed for rental by Customer Experience and Delivery staff to determine if suitable for rental. This includes, developing any required scopes of work necessary to make the property meet residential tenancy standards.
- Provide inspection services in accordance with key performance indicators and coordinate works with customers, contractors, sub-contractors and other business areas as required, to investigate and provide solutions to customer safety issues, complaints and/or other non-compliance issues.
