About the RoleThe Community Care Units is a residential mental health rehabilitation service for adults who are recovering from severe and enduring mental health issues, offering 24/7 rehabilitation support. This includes assessment, treatment and interventions that focus on functional improvement.
**Some key responsibilities of this role include**: - Assisting consumers within Adult Mental Health Services, key service providers and non-government organisations to develop a better understanding of the recovery framework. Drawing on mutual resources as peers and utilising a range of recovery tools, techniques and experience, support consumers to identify their own achievable and meaningful recovery goals, and with planning to make positive changes to achieve these. Working effectively and collaboratively as a member of the Community Wellbeing Program's multidisciplinary team, and in accordance with peer values. Support consumers and the team through the administrative processes relating to the delivery of education activities.
Under s25 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1991 (Qld), there is a genuine occupational requirement for the incumbent to have a personal lived / living experience of mental health and / or substance use issues and recovery.
