Advanced Peer Worker

About your role

As an Advanced Peer Worker (Identified), you'll draw upon your personal lived or living experience of mental health and/or substance use challenges to inspire hope, promote recovery, and support consumers in building skills, resilience, and community connection.

Key responsibilities include:

• Provide personalised peer support and practical assistance to consumers on their recovery journey.
• Share your lived experience to inspire hope and demonstrate that recovery is possible.
• Co-produce and co-facilitate therapeutic, educational, and training activities.
• Support consumers to identify and achieve meaningful recovery goals.
• Uphold professional and personal boundaries while modelling self-care and resilience.

About you

You're a compassionate, reflective person who uses your lived experience to support others with empathy and authenticity.

You will bring:

• Ability to share recovery experiences to inspire hope and model recovery principles.
• Experience in peer work, community services, or mental health support (highly desirable).
• Skills in planning, co-facilitating, and evaluating group or educational activities.
• Certificate IV in Mental Health Peer Work or willingness to obtain (highly desirable).
• Ability to work across multiple Metro South sites.
