**About the opportunity**:
The Principal Policy Officer is responsible for solving complex problems through expert research and analysis to formulate evidence-based advice on energy market development. The position will be required to lead and manage multiple projects including undertaking project planning, budgeting and review and monitoring. The Officer will develop and maintain trusted strategic relationships and regularly engage with a wide range of stakeholders.

- Experience - Substantial policy experience, and experience in the energy sector would be a bonus

**Key Selection Criteria**:

- Substantial experience in policy development.
- Substantial experience in undertaking complex research and projects, analysing problems, critically examining and summarising sensitive information concisely, and formulating appropriate solutions.
- High level of verbal and written communication skills resulting in effective and appropriate communication with officers, both within the Division or Department and in other government agencies.

**Qualifications**:
Desirable: An appropriate tertiary qualification.

**Remuneration**:
ASO7 $108,109 - $116,864 + superannuation
Full-time role, working 37.5 hours per week

**Special Conditions**:

- Out of hours work may be required.
- Intra state and interstate travel may be required.
