**About the role**

**Your responsibilities**

In this role, the key responsibilities include:

- Managing Council’s property leases and licenses, corporate property development activities and projects, the affordable housing portfolio and statutory property responsibilities.
- Developing Council’s corporate and strategic priorities relating to Council’s Property portfolio, including the development of key financial and other performance indicators, community and staff consultation, and facilitation of the development of business/management plans.
- Providing quality and timely advice to Council, including advice of current legislative requirements, trends and impacts on Council, professional assessment of the impact of Council proposals in relation to assets and infrastructure.
- Developing, implementing and reviewing Council’s long term Property Strategy.
- Developing plans and reviewing mechanisms to achieve the management plan outcomes including corporate and departmental outcomes.
- Identifying, managing and minimising risks associated with functional areas.
- Developing and implementing a corporate property management framework for Council
- Leading commercial negotiations for Voluntary Planning Agreements (VPAs).

**About the person**

To be successful in this role you will have:

- Tertiary qualification (Degree, diploma or similar) in a Property related field..
- Extensive relevant experience (5 years or more) in property management and leasing.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and manage teams, as well as outstanding teamwork skills working at a senior management level.
- Highly developed commercial and negotiating skills relevant to the position’s requirements.
- Detailed knowledge of relevant Local Government legislation as it relates to property matters.
- Extensive experience in interpreting and understanding legal documents such as contracts, leases, licences and land title details.
