We are looking for a highly motivated, experienced person to fill the role of Media Advisor in the Office of the Hon. Penny Sharpe MLC, Minister for Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Heritage and Leader of the Government in the Legislative Council.

The Minister for Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Heritage has a large, complex and ambitious agenda. This includes rolling out the NSW Strategy for Net Zero, the transition to renewable energy and protections for the state's biodiversity and natural environment. The Ministerial Office team works closely together to deliver these goals. Our office is diverse and accepting and highly driven to achieve our agenda.

**Reporting to the Director of Communications, the Media Advisor**:

- Delivers effective communications, management and advice on a broad range of media and communications-related matters.
- Develops and executes media and communications plans and drives content production to tell stories that support the priorities of the Minister and Government.
- Manages day-to-day media issues as they arise.
- Leads whole of government communications strategies related to the Minister’s portfolios.
- Develops and maintains effective working relationships with other offices, departments, journalists and media outlets.
- Liaises with Departments, agencies and other ministerial offices.
- Is capable and willing to work irregular hours outside core business hours, including morning and weekends.

- You are a self-starter and hard worker.

- You produce high-quality media content, briefing notes and materials that clearly convey positions.
- You can produce media and communications strategies and manage them from concept to delivery.
- You can write accurate responses to media enquiries on tight deadlines, and anticipate where the story will go next.
- You have experience creating traditional and social media content.
- You can deliver professional, safe and creative events involving members of government, media and other key stakeholders.
- You have extensive experience developing and maintaining relationships with members of the media and other key stakeholders.
- You are proactive in monitoring daily media and social media.
- You maintain a deep understanding of the Minister’s agenda that informs management of issues of the day.
- You’re adaptable, agile, resilient and calm. You can absorb information and act accordingly.
- You are willing to travel and work outside core business hours.
- You are committed to joining us in fostering a workforce that embraces all aspects of diversity and inclusion.
