As the Operations Manager, you will support the branch and state network in customer order fulfilment functions and associated processes and procedures. As key personnel within our business you will oversee despatch, receiving and general duties associated with inventory control. As such, the core responsibilities are to ensure that all orders are despatched in a timely and cost-effective manner, to correctly receive inventory into the warehouse and to maintain the physical inventory.
We need a self-motivated, hands on, have a versatile work approach, knowledgeable in fastener products, hardware, and consumables, as well as construction products, with clear demonstrated focus on excellence in customer service, and development of Staff. Knowledge and experience in business platforms such as Pronto are highly regarded.
As part of your role, you will be required to oversee staff within their work area to ensure they are performing their duties in accordance with company standards and policy.
**Duties and Responsibilities**:
- **Mange** a team of 8 staff members and ensure they are performing their duties in accordance with the company standards and policy.
- **Foster **a culture of achievement and continuous improvement within your team via providing and encouraging development opportunities and implementing training and development plans.
- **Ensure** that visions and strategies are translated into specific deliverables in order to get results.
- **Plan and execute** daily functions of the operations to ensure all activities are processed.
- **Ensure** all freight is sorted by destination/delivery zone/carrier accurately and in a manner that will reduce product damage.
- **Assist** in monitoring and controlling cost on an ongoing basis to ensure performance against budget.
- **Process improvement** that will enable cost reductions and productivity improvements.
- **Supervise** inventory, procurement, and stocktakes to support Branch plans.
- **Work** closely with the Branch Manager to develop & execute the Branch Plan.
- **Ensure **all work areas are maintained in a clean, ordered and well presented state at all times. House keeping is very important
**To be successful in this role you need to**:
- **Track record** of working as an Operations Manager within a high volume and fast-moving environment is essential.
- **Good **knowledge of small parts within the fasteners and industrial industry.
- **Understanding** the market, the business, and customers to create competitive advantage.
- **Ability **to identify and secure relevant information, identify key issues and alternate courses of action taking into consideration resources and constraints.
- **Proven **delivery of best practice customer service.
