An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Technical/Road-Rail Plant and Equipment Trainer to join our Rail Training team in based in Seven Hills. The main purpose of this role is to provide workplace training and assessment for the Rail teams within our national Rail business. Provide the training, knowledge and skills required to operate Road-Rail Vehicles, understand the safety critical aspects of working on the railway. This role will also travel to other states to deliver training as required.
The role will require you to be self-motivated and able to work autonomously.
- Responsibilities of the role include (but are by no means limited to):
- Developing training packages in accordance with operational requirements.
- Delivering Nationally Accredited training to John Holland personnel from the Transport and Logistics Training Package
- Training & Assessing personnel on Road-Rail Vehicles and other miscellaneous Rail & Civil Plant and Equipment
- Verify the Competence (VOC) of Rail & Civil Plant and Equipment operators
- Assisting curriculum designers in developing new material by acting as Subject Matter Experts and participating in the validation and piloting process
- Act as relationship builders within the business, providing key training information and advice to Operational Personnel
- Providing mentoring to John Holland field personnel
- Ensure that training and assessments both in the classroom and field are delivered in a way that provides a safety focus and risk analysis to ensure the safety of trainees and continuous improvement across Rail business sites.
- Seek innovating methods for delivering training and assessments in line with safety and operational requirements
To be successful in this key role, you must have:
- Cert IV in Training and Assessment - advantageous
- Cert II in Rail Infrastructure
- Cert III in Rail Infrastructure
- advantageous
- Operator knowledge of road-rail and civil plant and equipment
- Rail knowledge and experience
- Classroom facilitation experience - advantageous
