The Department of Justice and Community Safety is seeking an Offender Management Supervisor to provide a critical role mentoring and training custodial staff at Tarrengower Prison.

About the business unit
Tarrengower is a minimum-security prison accommodating up to 72 female offenders and is situated 2 km from Maldon in Central Victoria. Tarrengower's emphasis is on release preparation and community reintegration through the provision of programs within a rehabilitative environment. Tarrengower emphasises the principles of a healthy prison where children can be accommodated with their mothers ensuring the family unit is maintained and developed.
Tarrengower strongly recognises cultural diversity, respecting individual religious, spiritual and cultural beliefs. Tarrengower staff work with the women in a trauma informed manner designed to build Prison staff's capacity to establish effective professional relationships with women and facilitate their engagement in programs and services designed to reduce their risk of reoffending.

About the role
The Offender Management Supervisor role in prisons is to act as “change agents” by mentoring and training custodial staff regarding offender management practices, promote good practice through quality assurance activities and develop/improve their locations offender management processes to ensure they are in line with the Offender Management Framework.
The Offender Management Supervisor will be required to conduct stand-by duties and act as OIC of the prison as required, manage a team of staff, participate in emergency planning, responses and review of EMP/BCP documents as required.

**Some of your duties will include**:

- Implement Offender Management initiatives and processes contributing to the promotion of positive culture change within the organisation
- Provide mentoring to prison supervisors in the provision of support and direction to case workers regarding offender management processes
- Develop and implement strategies for quality assurance and continuous improvement

You may be required to work flexible hours or shift work, including weekends and public holidays, and attend call-outs as required. Appropriate remuneration will be applied for the above in accordance with applicable Victorian Public Service Agreement.

- Demonstrated knowledge with the Reducing Reoffending Framework, the Offender Management Framework and the practices of offender management/case management in custodial settings;
- Demonstrated ability to provide leadership in a correctional environment including to a team of correctional staff.
- Previous completion of Prison Pre-Service Training is mandatory.

Upon commencement of employment with the department you will be required to provide evidence that you have an up-to-date vaccination status within the timelines specified by the department into the DJCS Service Portal. This includes evidence of three doses of a COVID-19 vaccine required by the department (from time to time).

**Acceptable evidence includes**:

- COVID-19 digital certificate or ATAGI exemption certificate (available via your myGov account)
- Your immunisation history statement (available via your myGov account)

Other documentation outside the above will not be accepted as evidence of having received your COVID-19 vaccine doses.
