**Job Description**:
As a** Project Coordinator (Chinese Translator)** working in the multicultural communications industry, you will be responsible for overseeing translation projects from end-to-end, on-time, within budget and to the highest standards. The role will involve daily interaction with clients, translators, and our production team to ensure that our translations projects run smoothly.
Your secondary role will require you to translate a variety of texts from English into Simplified Chinese (and if applicable, Traditional Chinese). This role is suitable for recent graduates or as an entry level position into the translation industry.
This role is a suitable Graduate (entry-level) role for an enthusiastic language professional looking to get hands-on experience in the translation, localisation and multicultural communications industry.
Please note:
- You are required to hold a valid Certified Translator credential from NAATI (or have an upcoming NAATI exam scheduled).
- You must be proficient with translation technology including CAT tools and machine translation.

**Responsibilities**
Project Coordination
- End to end project coordination of translation projects, including identifying clients' requirements, project scope and managing deadlines.
- For larger projects, develop project schedules including resource assignments and project budgets.
- Provide assistance to the quality management process, including proofreading documents.
- Use appropriate tools and systems to analyse files and prepare them for translation, and to convert and publish translated files.
- Participate in daily, weekly and monthly meetings with the production team, to ensure that projects are being effectively managed.
Translation
- Translate a variety of texts (legal, business, marketing, scientific, financial, etc) from English into Simplified Chinese (and if applicable, Traditional Chinese) language for government, community and business clients.
- Proofread translated texts as part of our quality assurance process.
- Use technology such as Computed Aided Translation (CAT) tools, Translation Memories (TM), Translation Glossaries and Machine Translation (MT) as appropriate.
Account Management
- Develop and maintain business relationships with assigned clients and ensure that their experience with Ethnolink is world-class.
Record-keeping & Reporting
- Input data accurately and in a timely fashion into our operational & financial systems.
- Produce high-quality reports for management and the team.
Sales & Customer Service
**Qualifications**:

- Bachelor’s degree or higher, preferably in translation
- NAATI Certified Translator from English into Chinese.
- Ability to translate a variety of texts to a high-standard
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal in English and your native language.
- Ability to use translation technology including CAT tools and MT
- A 'can-do' attitude.
- An understanding, appreciation and passion for cultural diversity.
- An ability to learn and grow quickly.
