**The Opportunity**

The Early Intervention Program Lead (EIPL) is a critical role within the Wellbeing & Community team and is responsible for the operational optimisation of Medibank’s Early Intervention Program. This includes the effective management of injury and illness across the Medibank Group, for both work related and non-work related conditions. The EIPL also provides critical support to help the Employee Health Management (EHM) team oversee Medibank’s workers compensation and salary continuance arrangements and provides technical expertise to ensure that effective claims management strategies are supplied by Medibank’s Insurers and Third Party Claims Administrator. As required the EIPL provides direct claims management support to the EHM Lead and EHM Administrator, along with other support from time-to-time to the Head of EHM.

The main purpose of the role is to develop, influence and strategically lead Medibank’s Early Intervention Program encompassing both work related and non-work related injury and illness.

**About you**

You have extensive experience in the area of Occupational Rehabilitation / Return To Work Coordination as well as a demonstrated knowledge of Comcare and the rehabilitation and injury management obligations of self-insurers. You pride yourself on your interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills when working with People Leaders and employees and you like to show initiative and flexibility, a willingness to take on new challenges, work with mínimal supervision, and organise workload to ensure timely completion of tasks.

Further requirements include:

- Demonstrated knowledge of States and Territories workers compensation and rehabilitation legislation and regulations, and have relevant experience in its implementation
- Demonstrated experience working for or with a Comcare self-insurer(s)
- Demonstrated ability to research and analyse data, produce reports and make recommendations
- Demonstrated ability to conceptualise, develop and implement projects and legislative compliance strategies in partnership with People & Culture Business Partners and business areas.

**Desirable**:

- Strong knowledge of injury management issues within the medical, allied health sector.
