Our Federal Government client is seeking to engage a Compliance Inspection Officer on a contract for 3 months.
**WHAT YOU WILL DO**
The primary responsibilities for this position are to:
- Assess, endorse, inspect and report on new infrastructure for compliance with relevant standards and specifications applicable in the ACT. This includes but is not limited to:
- Works in the vicinity of stormwater easements. Carrying out easement checks for new/existing developments in accordance with relevant standards and codes.
- Landscape Management Protection Plan and waste management approvals for developments.
- Minor infrastructure works.
- Assist with reviewing Development Applications
- Assess Land Access and Activity Notices
- Act as the primary contact and provide general and technical advice relating to storm water works, driveways and other minor works enquiries. Assist customers in navigating approvals processes particularly related to driveway and nature strip works.
- Liaise with other business units and external agencies when specialist advice is required in relation to development approvals.
- This position does not involve direct supervision of staff.
**WHAT YOU REQUIRE**
The following capabilities form the criteria that are required to perform the duties and responsibilities of the position:
- Ability to exercise sound professional judgment in the resolution of disputes and develop the most appropriate solutions when assessing submissions and carrying out inspections.
- Demonstrated ability to undertake a range of administrative tasks, exercise project and time management skills and possess sound research and analytical skills.
- Communication (oral and written), negotiation, liaison and representation skills of a high level.
- Ability to work as a member of the team and consistently display commitment to providing high quality customer service.
- Demonstrated understanding and commitment to the TCCS Values framework, workplace respect, equity and diversity framework, workplace health and safety best practise and industrial democracy principles and practise.
**Professional / Technical Skills and Knowledge**
- Hold a relevant professional qualification in Engineering, Architecture or Project Management or accreditation with a professional body recognised within Australia; or
- Hold a relevant building degree; or
- Have significant building or Infrastructure knowledge and/or project management experience.
