We are currently looking for
**Work, Health & Safety Officer **on a part time - temporary
**$45.00 per hour. **The tenure will be for approximately
**6 months** and we are looking for
**an immediate start.**

**Role Purpose**:
Assist the Coordinator Work, Health & Safety by providing efficient and confidential day-to-day administrative and operational support to ensure delivery of an effective and integrated WHS Management System for the City.

**Key Accountabilities**:

- Provide effective day to day administrative support to the WHS Department.
- Assist in the maintenance and updating of the City’s WHS Risk Management Safety System (RMSS), including inputting of data such as accidents, incidents, safety inspections, hazards, risk register and Action Manager, as required.
- Provide support for staff and contractor inductions including undertaking presentations and one-on-one contacts as required, ensuring all relevant documents and compliance checks are completed and contractor registers are updated.
- Maintain and update the WHS Training System Data Base ensuring all associated documentation is completed and is appropriately recorded for all employees, including induction training, WHS Representatives, First Aid Officers and Fire Wardens.
- Assist the Coordinator WHS in the management of the City’s chemicals.
- Assist in the placement, updating and regular review of WHS documentation on the Business Management System (BelNet) and monitor review dates.
- Carry out other duties within the scope and level of this position as directed by the Coordinator Work Health and Safety.

**Requirements of the Job**:

- Previous relevant experience within a WHS environment or similar, with a proven ability to follow process driven systems.
- Previous experience in Local Government **(desirable)**.
- Possession of, or ability to acquire, a current Workplace First Aid Certificate **(desirable)**.
- Possession of or progress towards a relevant qualification in Work Health & Safety.
- Well-developed interpersonal, conflict resolution and facilitation skills with the ability to communicate with and motivate a wide range of people and groups (including white and blue collar staff), to ensure delivery of a high level of customer service.
