Join Lutheran Service’s paid training program in aged care**:Earn**, **learn** and **grow** with us as a **Personal Carer**.

We strive to ensure our residents feel at home in our Aged Care Facilities. Residents have their own room, and there are various common areas where they can meet to eat, socialise, or be active. This is a unique opportunity to work alongside care professionals to assist our residents with their everyday needs.

**About you**:

**It doesn’t matter if you have not worked as a carer
- we provide the training**

**What are the benefits?**
- Paid employment under our Enterprise Agreement - the salary is above trainee and award wages, and will increase again after 3 months
- A Training Contract - that we will pay for - with a registered training provider, to get a Certificate III Individual Support (Ageing specialisation) within 12 months
- Paid time to complete the training on the job
- Our own induction, training and support program over the first year.

**Where will I be working?**

**Tabeel** at** Laidley **is a private country community near the heart of town, surrounded by lovely gardens where residents can enjoy the sunshine, potter in the garden or spend time with family. Tabeel specialises in personalised aged care services focused on individual well being and an enriched quality of life. Click here for more information.

**What’s the commitment?**
- Work a minimum of 15 hours per week on a** permanent part-time contract**. If you are willing and able to work additional hours, please discuss this at your interview.
- Work a variety of shifts including mornings, afternoons, nights and weekends.
- Commit to the training and study that is delivered online via zoom virtual sessions, as well as any reading and written work required.
- You must be available to participate in a paid 5-day initial block of training from **Friday 22 September to Thursday 28 September**. There will then be 2 days of paid training per month for approximately 10 months.

**What does a Personal Carer do?**

You will provide quality care that includes:

- Providing personal, physical and emotional support to our residents
- Assisting with personal care, meals, nursing plans, and activities
- Establishing and maintaining collaborative relationships within the service and members of the external health care team.
