**Description**:
About the role
The Facilities Manager leads the Centre’s facilities team responsible for safe and optimal operation and maintenance of venues and facilities. The team is accountable for delivering essential services management, preventative and general maintenance programs, minor works, projects, building compliance, safety and security, contractor management and general business services including cleaning and help desk functions.
Reporting to the Director Operations and Experience, the Facilities Manager is responsible for building a culture and service ethic across the Facilities team which promotes the Centre’s brand and ensures safe and sustainable operations. The incumbent manages and continuously improves the Centre’s facilities asset management processes including procurement, record keeping, lifecycle reporting and attestation processes, in addition to undertaking functions including budgeting, reporting, planning and providing input to corporate projects such as redevelopment and organisational readiness.
**Skills and Experiences**:
Substantial relevant experience in facilities or building management with knowledge of essential safety, security and building compliance requirements
Demonstrated commercial acumen and experience in managing supplier relationships, costs, resource management and budgets
Proven ability to work conceptually and be ‘hands on’ when required, in a high-volume environment with competing demands and deadlines
Strong project management, planning, problem solving and administrative skills (including financial and reporting skills)
Demonstrated ability to lead, develop and motivate a small team
Strong understanding of the critical nature of the performance of the facility on a positive user experience
Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office suite
Excellent verbal and written communications skills
**Desirable skills and experience include**:
Tertiary qualification(s) in a relevant discipline
Experience in the use of facilities related systems such as BMS, Access Control, AIMS or equivalent
**Any or all of the following licences and tickets**: EWP licence, MFB Chief Warden course, Construction White Card, Electrical Test and Tag accreditation
Experience in performing arts/cultural institutions
Experience in a construction or redevelopment context
Experience in government departments and proficiency with Cloud-based software such as Microsoft Office 365 suite including OneDrive, SharePoint and Teams and IMPOS will also be viewed favourably.
