**The opportunity**:
An exciting new opportunity exists for an **Electrical Power Products Detail Designer (Power, Control and Auxiliary Hardware)** to join our team.
- A tertiary degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems Engineering or related engineering science, or long-standing practical experience with power system detail design
- Relevant professional design experience in: o Electrical power products or systems hardware design (Must be both, primary and secondary systems)
- Electrical LV power distribution hardware design
- Protection systems, including use of multi-function electronic protection relays
- System design with control, monitoring and communications systems o Electrical kiosk, cabinet or switchboard mechanical, auxiliary and safety systems design (cooling, fire suppression, E-Stop)
- Advances electrical drafting with AutoCAD or similar software
- Basic programming (PLCs or controllers)
- Ideally, you already have had exposure to:

- DC systems (C&I-scale or utility-scale battery or solar) systems
- Working in a similar role within the Energy/Electrical Utility, renewables or power generation sector (Australia preferred)
- A talent for logic in design
- A pragmatic, delivery-oriented approach with a strong ability to problem solve multidisciplinary project issues independently
- Strong inter-personal skills and an ability to work to challenging deadlines with a small team and international supply partners in innovative projects
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills in English
- Confidence in dealing with customer technical staff
- Outstanding professional conduct and verbal & written communication skills
- An Australian residency, or suitable valid visa to work in Australia for at least 1 year
- Experience with site installation or project management is a plus

**By the end of next year, you will have**:
Developed a firm understanding of PowerTec’s solutions through peer-to-peer coaching and learning on the job Successfully and timely
- Analysed, designed, sized, selected, drafted, and adapted the power electrical, protection, power control, alarming, safety, auxiliary system, and environmental control components and circuits of customised power conversion and battery energy storage systems, based on product templates.
- Created a comprehensive set of functional and manufacturing drawings according to power system drawing standards
- Supervised or managed the delivery of cabinets and the manufacturing and electrical & control fit-out of power conversion and battery energy storage systems in cabinets - Programmed and factory-tested protection systems
- Factory-tested the systems’ electrical, control and communication installation
- Carried out power and auxiliary system functional, communication, safety and failure scenario factory testing
- Carried out device and integrated power system commissioning and testing on sites across the Australian east coast
- Optionally programmed controls in a scripting language of:

- Several Battery Energy Storage Systems for Electrical Vehicle charging, industrial and/or community batteries
- Developed well-written documentation of the delivered system hardware
- Undertaken and documented site-specific
