About the role
**Job Title**: Senior Data Analyst - Retail Credit Risk
**Location**: Melbourne or Sydney

The Retail Credit Risk Department is responsible for the management of credit risk policy, strategy, governance and oversight across the credit lifecycle, balancing customer, shareholder, and regulatory objectives.

Your skillset will enable you to source and interrogate data, working with a focus on the future, with an active understanding of industry trends to ensure capability development is aligned. You will support strategic direction by translating insights into practical business recommendations, communicating team objectives, and presenting data in digestible, logical, and compelling ways.
What will your day look like
Deliver on actionable/value-add insights and analyses in support of the decision automation and optimisation journey of Retail Risk
Impact assessment on Retail Risk Data platforms due to stream of BAU changes or project-based changes
Take part in Data Architecture forums and take part in the journey of current state vs target state of Cloud infrastructure (Data)
Streamline credit risk strategy, policy, and process for ANZ’s Retail Credit Portfolios with respect to Data consumption
Deliver improved decision automation, low friction and fast outcomes for customers whilst managing ANZ risk appropriately
Utilise analytical techniques, leveraging existing data and system infrastructure, to create more tailored decisions and offers that improve customer and business outcome
End to end delivery of changes from ideation to rollout, coordinating with stakeholders across the business.

A self-starter focused on sound decision making to drive quality and timely delivery outcomes within a defined set of parameters and readily available direction
At least eight years of relevant experience solving business problems using complex & analytic thinking skills that can be applied to solve business problems
Enjoy working “on the tools”, with sound working knowledge of data science, and/or business decision systems and/or reporting software tools (e.g., MS Excel, SAS, SQL, R, Python, Qlik, Tableau, Power BI, PowerCurve, TRIAD Customer Manager, AB Initio, Hadoop Cloud Data platform)
Strong understanding of Data Architecture to map with Business Architecture
Understanding of information exchange through API layers
Effective communication skills both written and verbal, with a strong capability to articulate complex analytical information clearly and simply
Can appreciate difficult problems and enjoy getting stuck into the detail, but able to keep an eye on the big picture to keep moving forward
Comfortable with uncertainty and can manage through ambiguity and change
Stakeholder management experience, as necessary to enable work to be delivered
Relevant prior experience working within industries including (but not limited to): financial, professional, or consulting services, utilities, engineering, information/data providers (such as credit bureaux)
