The research areas of the Soil Catchment & Riverine Processes unit focus on: - Soil, catchment and riverine processes, including catchment management prioritisation methods, landscape function science, nutrient management (including offsets), and water quality to support government programs and policy. The Queensland River Management Framework, including aquatic ecosystem rehabilitation processes and techniques. Supporting the activities of the Land Restoration Fund and the Office of the Great Barrier Reef.
We are looking for the best suited applicant for the role. We will do this by assessing your eligibility and your suitability to undertake the requirements of the role (including, where relevant, the way you carried out previous roles). **This position requires**: 1. Demonstrated high level leadership skills, including the ability to effectively manage work teams and individual staff and to initiate, develop, coordinate and deliver a multidisciplinary projects portfolio.2. Demonstrated ability to design and manage complex project budgets.3. Demonstrated contemporary knowledge and experience in soil, catchment and riverine science that is relevant to the needs of government, industry and community organisations.4. Demonstrated ability to handle complex issues and provide high level strategic, technical and operational advice to senior management.5. Demonstrated high level communication and negotiation skills, as well as ability to develop and sustain relationships with a wide range of customers and partners while representing the Department and its interests.6. Contribution to workplace equity and diversity that enriches our culture of safety, innovation, respect and inclusion.
