**About the Role**

We’re looking for a detail-oriented and artistic **Cake Decorator / Baker Assistant** to join our back-of-house team and help bring our Filipino desserts and celebration cakes to life. From delicate swirls of ube buttercream to traditional fiesta-style finishes, you’ll play a key role in shaping the sweet identity of _Manila in Canberra_.

**What You’ll Bring**
- Experience in cake decorating or assisting in a bakery setting
- Strong attention to detail and design—from piping to layering and garnish
- Familiarity with—or passion to learn—Filipino cakes like **ube roll**, **brazo de Mercedes**, and **celebration-style layered cakes**:

- Ability to assist with dough prep, kitchen cleaning, and basic baking tasks
- Reliable, flexible, and committed to quality
- Full working rights in Australia

**Key Responsibilities**
- Decorate cakes and pastries to meet house style, seasonal themes, or special orders
- Assist in preparation and baking of Filipino breads and sweets
- Maintain workstation cleanliness and organisation
- Follow kitchen safety protocols and hygiene standards
- Support baker team with prep and packaging during busy shifts
- Collaborate with FOH for display and presentation setup
