**About the Role**
As part of Cyber Security NSW, the Capability and Development team works closely with internal and external stakeholders to produce solutions across a broad range of cyber security-based objectives. Projects include the development of software related to incident management, data/information management, data processing/analysis, automation, and other areas relevant to government environments and objectives. Reporting to the Manager of Capability and Development, the primary purpose of the role will be to develop, deliver and monitor a complex program of strategic projects to achieve project outcomes, and support achievement of cyber security organisational objectives. This role will lead resources and provide guidance on utilising advanced project management skills to effectively manage and maintain projects and program governance. As well as perform a leadership function in monitoring, managing and coordinating the team in support of the Manager.
**Responsibilities will include**:
- Lead the development and delivery of a portfolio of projects, identifying interdependencies and leveraging resources to maximise efficiencies and achieve required organisation outcomes.
- Lead and maintain an overview of the day-to-day tasks and priorities of the entire Capability and Development team. Inclusive of BAU and project activities whilst being an escalation point where required, in support of the Manager.
- Acting as a focal point for the team for the Cyber Security NSW branch in support of the Manager and representing the team at relevant working groups whilst the ability to make clear and justifiable decisions/recommendations on behalf of the team, as required.
- Create, present and clearly communicate reports to upper management on the progress, issues and risks the team is encountering whilst providing expert recommendations.
- Lead and oversee all aspects of project development, implementation and project closure across a portfolio of complex projects, including defining requirements, leading project management plans, establishing appropriate governance, identifying, allocating and managing resources, and meeting reporting requirements, to ensure project outcomes are achieved on time, on budget, to quality standards and in line best practice project management methodology.
- Develop and manage internal and external stakeholder relationships through the provision of expert advice, effective communication, priorities, negotiation of outcomes and proactively seek, as well as determine new opportunities and engagements for the team.
- Prepare and create professional correspondence, briefings, reports and advisories tailored to the audience utilising resources within the team.
- Ownership and management of the change management process and standards for the production and mission critical platforms and systems which the team manage.
- Provide direction and guidance to the team’s testing functionality and priorities during project delivery.
**About you**:
To be successful in this role you will have the following:
- 8+ years’ experience working within complex technical environments and performing project/program management with experience as a Project Manager, Senior Project Officer or Program Manager.
- Extensive experience in leading projects end to end using best practice project management methodologies from conceptualisation, project delivery, and project closure.
- Extensive experience in leading mid to large project size teams, programs of work and performing all facets of project management (reporting, project scheduling, financials, governance).
- Professional practitioner certifications in project management methodologies (e.g. PMP, PRINCE2, etc).
- You will have strong interpersonal skills (written and verbal), with the ability to communicate, train and work with non-technical users; you take initiative, are able to manage yourself, and have a can-do approach.
- Must have Australian citizenship with (or willing and able to obtain and maintain) baseline clearance or higher (Australian permanent residents or visa holders will not be accepted).
- Any other supporting tertiary/industry certifications are highly desirable.
