**The Department**

The HR Services Department is responsible for providing day-to-day HR advice and services on a range of employment-related issues, including workplace policy, legislative compliance concerning industrial agreements and workplace laws, performance management advice, the end-to-end attraction of talent and recruitment services, retention initiatives, OH&S leadership and support and general HR advice to employees and managers.

**The Role**

The Employee Relations Advisor is a technical expert and a point of escalation and expert advice for complex case management of employee issues such as grievances, disputes, large scale change, complaints, ill and injured employees and WorkCover-related matters. The Employee Relations Advisor develops solutions to complex employment-related problems.

**Qualifications and Experience Required**
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in a Human Resources discipline (Bachelor of Business HR major) or Human Resources Management or Employment Law required
- At least 1-2 years’ experience in Employee Relations or 3-4 years’ relevant HR Business Partner experience
- In depth knowledge and experience in interpreting and providing advice on workplace legislation and enterprise agreements, as well as providing generalist HR advice to senior managers
- Experience in conducting workplace investigations, including the preparation of reports and advice to clients/internal stakeholders
- Experience in developing and implemented policies and procedures
- Experience negotiating with unions/employees
- Experience in the Health Sector or other public sector organisations is highly desirable and advantageous
