**Position Overview**
This role plays an important part in the ongoing digital improvement of the Federal Court of Australia and Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia to operate and utilise technology to improve procedures and operations, and to enhance end user experiences through the use of video-conferencing technologies.
Working closely with the Director, Digital Solutions and the Digital Practice team, the Assistant Director, Digital Solutions will be responsible for liaising with key vendors, managing implementation of audio-visual technology in courtrooms and meeting rooms, and assisting in the assessment of new technologies to provide modernisation solutions to address the needs of the courts. Contributing to key decisions on the implementation of digital tools, while working closely with internal and external teams to ensure the delivery of these solutions.
In addition, ensuring that new technologies are adopted, ongoing training and development to ensure proficiency among the judiciary and court staff in the use of new technologies and measuring overall improvement on the operation of the courts. Being up to date with technology trends globally, to ensure the courts remain innovative and leverage technology to simplify court operations, and continue to identify opportunities to improve access to justice.

**Duties and Responsibilities**
- Coordinate the delivery of assigned audio-visual (AV) related projects, including but not limited to discovery, planning, timelines, access, infrastructure requirements and relevant stakeholder approvals.
- Work with internal and external stakeholders to design and implement video conferencing (VC) solutions and functionality. Ensuring the technology is simple to use, provides consistency and considers enhancements in emerging technologies within the industry
- Provide technical advice and recommendations to other court infrastructure teams, specific to the AV and unified communications (UC) network. Ensuring the network delivers optimal performance to the courts
- Responsible for administration of core VC devices and infrastructure, including configuration, testing, monitoring and regular maintenance on core AV components.
- Comprehensive testing of latest patches for cloud devices to reduce bugs impacting core court operations. Liaising with manufacturers to ensure bugs are known and addressed.
- Act as a main point of contact for internal and external stakeholders for VC and UC queries and related projects.
- Assist with the procurement of hardware and services required for projects, including obtaining business requirements, tracking tasks and managing vendors to project timelines.
- Identify and resolve problems in conjunction with relevant business areas, considering how technology can be exploited and deliver quality and timely outcomes.
- Evaluate current and new software, products and services, to ensure fit for purpose, enable effective development and improved processes through technology.
- Design and deliver training, including developing accompanying resources, on the use of courtroom technology and unified communications.
- Asset management for both new and decommissioned AV technology, and maintain a courtroom technology equipment register.

**Desirable**
- Experience working with Cisco/Webex software and hardware
- Experience working with Microsoft tools, specifically O365 Suite

**Selection Criteria**
- Outstanding knowledge of video conferencing and collaboration technology with demonstrated ability to continuously develop skills as new technology emerges.
- Excellent relationship building skills and proven capacity to manage internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to manage projects from initiation through to completion.
- Experience in managing issues from end-to-end, including proactively identify potential issues before they arise.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrated experience in delivering technical information to non-technical stakeholders, ability to engage across a range of stakeholders.
