The Runaway Bay Sport and Leadership Excellence Centre (RBSLEC) is an outdoor education centre that is set amongst the elite sporting facilities of the Gold Coast Performance Centre. Our camps utilise this world-class venue, the Runaway Bay sport precinct and the nearby Broadwater to deliver Australian Curriculum aligned sport and leadership development programs to students in Years 4 to 12.
About the Role
**Responsibilities include**:

- Supervise the Cleaning and Grounds/Maintenance Team, a team of 15+ staff. Identify workforce needs, arrange recruitment, set priorities based on Centre needs, manage work performance and development of facilities staff. Develop and implement induction and training for Cleaning and Grounds/Maintenance Team that further develop process improvements.
- Develop and implement Centre policies and Standards of Practice. Interpret and implement departmental policies, guidelines and strategies, ensuring legislative and procedural requirements are met, communicated and implemented within the cleaning and Grounds/Maintenance team.
- Develop an environment in which high quality cleaning, grounds/maintenance and customer service is delivered that contributes to business improvement. Provide guidance and advice to staff on technical cleaning and maintenance matters. Liaise and negotiate with other departmental Managers and Team Leaders to co-ordinate cleaning and grounds/maintenance works so as not to interfere with day-to-day operations of the Centre.
- Manage facilities staff rosters, scheduling of work, cross checking and approving timesheets for facilities staff; managing leave requests; maintaining accurate records of concessional/provisional days and sick leave.
- Oversee procurement of cleaning, grounds/maintenance equipment purchases and oversee the purchase of cleaning consumables, equipment and machinery whilst identifying process and purchasing improvement opportunities.
- Oversee the Cleaning and Grounds/Maintenance department's financial activities including identifying opportunities to minimise overheads, procurement of plant, equipment and related supplies, facilities related supplier arrangements such as Linen Hire, scheduled servicing, rostering, and monthly Profit and Loss reviews whilst contributing to regular budget reviews and provide budget and purchasing information to the Operations Manager and Finance Manager.

**A mandatory requirement of this role is**:

- In accordance with the Working with Children (Risk Management and Screening) Act 2000 a person is prohibited from working in regulated child-related employment unless the person holds a current Working with Children Check clearance (blue card) issued by Blue Card Services.
