**The Role**:
Reporting to the General Manager HSEQ, the Sustainability and Environment Manager will be responsible to develop and implement initiatives, programs, products and services which solve environmental and social problems whilst returning value to our client TfNSW, our people and the communities we serve.

The Sustainability Manager is responsible for developing and delivering the Sustainability Plan and Environmental Management Plan (Aboriginal Participation Plan) for contracted regions for CDC NSW and CDC Charter.

**Responsibilities**:

- Implement and maintain Sustainability Plan and Environmental Management Plan for all regions under management by CDC NSW
- Delivery of initiatives defined in the Plans across the operating regions
- Develop and manage sustainability initiatives in line with international, national and local sustainability and social engagement goals.
- Identify and implement initiatives to track and reduce CDC’s waste, water and energy consumption
- Develop and manage key partnerships and initiatives that support CDC NSW’s contractual obligations, business targets and objectives.
- Oversee the Aboriginal Participation Officer ensuring a focus on aboriginal recruitment, procurements & cultural awareness. Implement of actions form the national Reconciliation Action Plan across CDC NSW
- Ensuring a healthy, safe and environmental compliant workplace
- Ensuring employees adhere to HSEQ procedures
- Promoting a strong safety and environmentally compliant culture
- Complying with the Responsibilities and Accountabilities defined in the HSE Management system’s documents
- Contribute to Marketing and Communications, Aboriginal Participation Plan and Disability Engagement Plan plans for all regions under management by CDC NSW

**About You**:

- Tertiary Qualification in Science, Environmental Management (or equivalent).
- Understanding of Planning and Environmental legislation, policies, processes, and procedures
- Experience with implementing and maintaining Environmental Management Systems
- Understanding of relevant Legislation, Standards and Management systems
- Operations experience in complex organisations, preferably in the public transport industry
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
