**The Role**

The **Aboriginal Mental Health, Social and Emotional Wellbeing Peer Worker** will utilise their lived experience to support Aboriginal patients accessing the NSW Community Forensic Mental Health Services, and to shape the delivery of culturally safe services by the Community Transitions Team (CTT) and the Community Forensic Mental Health Service (CFMHS).

These services provide forensic mental health assessment, care and treatment to people transitioning from custody into the community, and to Forensic Patients living in the community under conditions to receive treatment. This essential role will be pivotal in providing a culturally safe space for Aboriginal patients to identify the support and care that they need to remain living safely in the community.

**ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS**:

- This is an identified Aboriginal Health position. Applicants must be a person of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander descent. An applicant's race is a genuine occupational qualification and is authorised under section 14 of the Antidiscrimination Act 1977 NSW.
