**About the Facility**
Centrally located, Aegis Melville, is a Residence that includes a host of amenities including lounge areas where residents and guests can mingle in a relaxed and social atmosphere. The co-located Kitchener Gardens Village offers a nearby Retirement Village option.
Aegis Melville offers a vibrant community in caring for the elderly. This location ensures that a large variety of shopping and service options including restaurants. Many 'day trip' venues are located close-by, providing a wonderful variety of choice for that special outing.
**About You**
You should ideally be an empathetic person who:
Enjoys interacting with the elderly.
- Can work effectively and efficiently with mínimal supervision as required, and as part of the team.
- Is reliable, proactive with a high attention to cleaning details.
**With cleaning, you will need to have**:
- Prior cleaning experience in a health care setting.
- Knowledge of infection control principles and commercial cleaning operations, including the safe use of chemicals.
- Knowledge and prior experience in relation to laundry services(desirable).
- Good communication skills.
- Have full Australian working rights and able to pass a national police clearance.
**With laundry, you will need to have**:
- Clearing / Sorting Linen and Waste skips throughout the day.
- Cleaning Waste / Linen Chute and ensuring Waste Room is clean and safe working space.
- Deliver Linen and assist with deliveries.
- Responsible for washing and handling of Viola bins in accordance with Aegis policy and procedure.
**With KH, you will need to have**:
- Preparing resident’s meals according to dietary / care plans in accordance with developed menus.
- Maintaining a clean working environment in accordance with infection control guidance.
- Ensuring correct food handling techniques are always observed.
You should ideally be an empathetic person who:
- Enjoys working with the elderly.
- Can work independently and as part of a team.
- Is reliable, punctual, and trustworthy.
- Has availability and flexibility to work a variety of shifts over weekdays and weekends.
- Has good communication skills and interpersonal skills.
You should possess the following:
- At least 1 years’ experience in a similar role (preferably in Healthcare Industry).
- Experience in food preparation and cooking for large number of people.
- A knowledge of food safety.
- Full Australian working rights and able to pass national police clearance.
