**Manager Controls Assurance, Analytics and Automation**
**Do work that matters**:
Chief Operations Office (COO) is responsible for servicing multiple brands within the Group internationally, delivering a highly flexible operations environment, outstanding customer experiences and better risk outcomes. This is achieved through end-to-end process management, use of innovative new technologies and a cross-skilled, capable workforce.
**Team**:
The Chief Controls Office (CCO) is a first line of defence function that provides comprehensive and integrated risk services in support of the COO. The value proposition of the CCO is to provide skilled, practical and efficient risk management to support the COO in the delivery of excellent business and customer outcomes.
The CCO function delivers effective business and customer outcomes through the following risk services:
- Implementation and adherence to the Operational and Compliance Risk Management Frameworks.
- Specialist advice, consultation and services to support the business in identifying, monitoring and managing its respective risks and controls.
- Build and embedment of strong risk capability and culture across the Chief Operating Office.
- Risk governance and reporting.
- Risk in Change assessment in support of project and transformation activities across the COO.
- Supplier risk assessment and governance.
- Controls assurance and continuous improvement through control automation.
**Impact and Role Contribution**:
The Control Assurance team is responsible for ensuring the integrity of the control environment and that these controls are effective in managing risk. We achieve this through periodic testing of the design and operating effectiveness of key controls and identification of control gaps.
As a Manager, Controls Assurance, you will join our high performing COO Chief Controls Office (COO CCO) team and assist in supporting COO to identify, assess and manage the risk inherent in providing a range of operations services to the CBA group.
You will also partner with key stakeholders to deliver insights, utilising analytical skills and complex data. You will need the adaptability to work in a fast-paced environment and the ability to build relationships and work collaboratively with the extended leadership team across COO, CCO, Line 2 and Group Audit.
**In any given week you will**:
- In line with the Controls Assurance Program (CAP) across COO, utilising CBA’s Operational Risk Management Framework (ORMF) to deliver professional, accurate and effective data analytics and data visualizations to assist in the identification of operational risks and to deliver meaningful business insights
- Assist in the Automation strategic pillar in becoming more efficient and effective in both executing assurance and testing, through the innovative use of Automated Assurance Tools, Data Analytics, Continuous Monitoring and Modelling
- Provide Line 1 assurance through testing complex automated and business controls that support the Bank’s critical business
- Drive continuous improvement of the controls environment through implementation of continuous control monitoring, automation and control rationalisation.
- Analyse and interpret data to select targeted samples and test key controls across one or more systems
- Validate findings, document test plans, results and conclusions clearly and concisely
- Take ownership of assigned internal customer relationships through the use of strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written, keeping stakeholders informed of assignments and emerging opportunities where analytics can help achieve desired business outcomes
- Analyse/identify risks and opportunities and recommend appropriate actions
- Write observations and present/discuss findings including insights to senior stakeholders
- Develop and enhance the reporting of control effectiveness across COO to provide Control Owners with the information required to effectively manage risk.
- Assist the Senior Manager uplift the controls automated assurance methodology.
- Collaborate and work across the Line 1 Risk community supporting delivery of appropriate risk outcomes.

- Proficient in Alteryx or similar solution - **_required _**
- Experience in developing and delivering data analytics in a Risk Management or Audit environment including the identification, planning, testing and reporting on automated and technology dependent manual controls across various business processes - **_required _**
- SQL - technically proficient in writing SQL code across various platforms (Teradata, MS SQL Server, Oracle, SAS Proc SQL, etc.) - **_highly desirable _**
- Ability to think critically and analytically and use data driven insights to solve problems - **_required _**
- Proficient with Tableau - **_highly desirable _**
- Influencing and consulting skills, with the ability to build relationships with stakeholders
