**About The Role**:
This is a Full Time (1 EFT) Ongoing Grade 2 Social Work role in the Complex Care Hub and Social Work Department. In this role you will be responsible for providing social and emotional assessment, support and intervention for children and families where issues are identified as impacting on quality of life and outcomes for the child. The Complex Care Hub provides expert psychosocial care to families in the hospital and the wider community, inclucing conducting home visits when required.

**What You'll Achieve**:

- Provide high quality clinical care to children and families presenting to RCH with a broad range of complex medical and psychosocial needs
- Contribute to timely decision making, transition or discharge planning and referral to community providers
- Support and counselling for vulnerable children and families in crisis situations including trauma, family violence, grief and loss
- Engage in quality improvement to enhance exisiting Social Work services to patients and families

Classification for this position will range from SC21 - SC24 Grade 2 Year 1 to Grade 2 Year 4 (FTE base salary $88,467.60 to $101,691.20 per annum, plus superannuation).

**Your Skills and Experience**:

- Social Work Degree from an accredited University/Course
- Eligibility for membership of AASW and meet AASW CPE accreditation standards
- Clinical experience recognised in related field of practice
- Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team

**About The Department**:
The RCH Social Work Department is a growing team of 46.6 EFT and over 65 employees and is the largest Allied Health team at RCH. Social workers work in collaboration with Medical, Nursing and Allied Health staff across the hospital as well as provide community liaison to ensure delivery of great psychosocial care for patients and families

- Current National Criminal Record Check, or willing to obtain
- Valid Working with Children Check and NDIS workers Check
- A current, full drivers licence for the State of Victoria which is appropriate for the type of vehicle being driven, and comply with any restrictions on their licence (e.g. wearing glasses) while undertaking hospital duties
- Compliance with RCHs “Staff Immunisation - Prevention of Vaccine Preventable Diseases” procedure
