Workforce Extensions Geelong is working with is a leading player in the steel industry, known for their production of a range of rural products designed to withstand harsh environments from coastal locations to inland farms. We are currently seeking a skilled and dedicated Warehouse Operator to join our team based in North Geelong.

**Position Overview**:
As a machine operator, you will play a critical role in our steel manufacturing and distribution process. Your primary responsibilities will include operating a bandsaw, along with overhead crane for cutting steel materials and safely manoeuvring heavy loads using a forklift. This is a hands-on role that requires precision, attention to detail, and a commitment to workplace safety.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Operate bandsaw equipment to cut steel materials to precise specifications.
- Utilize an overhead crane to lift and position steel components.
- Safely load, unload, and transport steel products using a forklift.
- Conduct routine maintenance checks on equipment to ensure proper functionality.
- Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Assist with inventory management, including accurate record-keeping.

**Qualifications**:

- Proven experience in operating a bandsaw and overhead crane for steel cutting.
- Valid forklift operator's license and experience in forklift operations.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to workplace safety.
- Physical fitness and the ability to lift heavy objects.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
- Flexibility to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Casual, Temp to perm
Contract length: 3 months

Pay: $30.00 - $32.00 per hour

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift
- Day shift
- Monday to Friday
- No weekends
- Overtime

Supplemental pay types:

- Overtime pay
- Penalty rates

**Experience**:

- Forklift: 1 year (preferred)
- Bandsaw: 1 year (required)

Work Authorisation:

- Australia (required)
