The Loans Operations Office is responsible for the customer interface and operational processing of Corporate Lending transactions for the Institutional Clients Group customer base in Australia and New Zealand.
**In this role, you will be expected to**:
- Ownership of internal and external customer inquiries relating to the operational processing of transactions pertaining to Corporate Loans, Commitments, primarily including drawdowns, rollovers and settlement.
- Action all drawdown and rollover requests for Loans and prepare processing instructions, facility memorandums (FM’s) and checklists for Citi’s regional processing centre in Kuala Lumpur.
- Assist and direct Citi’s Regional Processing Centres to ensure system input requirements have been met in relation to Loan transactions.
- Assist in servicing clients of the AU/ NZ Agency customer base and lending groups, including effective interaction with Citi’s Regional Processing Centres
- Assist with booking cash flows and accounting entries for Citi’s Securitisation vehicles, as required.
- Investigate and clear all open item positions in internal settlement accounts.
- Investigate and escalate all late payment and back valuation issues.
- Prepare all commitment billing and bilateral Loan advices.
- Work closely with the Front Office (Relationship Managers and Associates) and Middle Office staff (Credit Officers and Administrators) to ensure customer facilities are drawn and maintained within set limits. (i.e. as stipulated in the Credit Risk Policy and associated guidelines).
- Ensure all exception based customer requests are processed in accordance with the Bank’s internal policies and procedures (such as one-off limit requests, fee waivers, documentation deferrals, and drawdowns under classified facilities).
- Knowledge of core Banking (Treasury related) products.
- Ability to work in a team with a willingness to learn from others, share knowledge and accept added responsibility as and when required.
- Ability to review and understand legal agreement associated with loan facilities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Able to recognise problems early and offer suitable solutions for resolution.
- Identify opportunities for simplification and streamlining of processes
- Be able to multi task
- Understanding of general business and financial Markets principles.
- Basic Accounting knowledge with a base to develop Securities accounting knowledge. Understanding of proofing concepts and Two-way reconciliation processes.
- Minimum Software literacy of ‘intermediate’ in relation to Excel and MS Word.
- Appreciation and understanding of the key treasury controls such as the importance and impact of unconfirmed trades or outstanding settlement reconciliation items.
