Victorian Managed Insurance Authority (VMIA) is the Victorian Government's insurer and risk adviser, covering the people and projects that help Victorians thrive. We're an agency in the Department of Treasury and Finance portfolio established under the Victorian Managed Insurance Authority Act, and report to the Assistant Treasurer.
We provide insurance and risk advice to government departments and agencies, with more than 4,600 clients ranging from small community service organisations to public hospitals, schools, and core service providers. We also provide domestic building insurance to builders, giving Victorian homeowners peace of mind for building projects valued over $16,000.

Your role
Are you a Cyber Security enthusiast wanting to develop your Cyber experience? Are you a final year student, recent graduate or passionate about learning new skills and expanding your network in the government space? This could be the perfect role for you.
We are looking for a self-motivated and data driven Cyber Security professional to join our risk services division. As the Cyber Service Analyst, you will be an integral member of the team and the go to person for coordinating cyber service activities. You will be responsible for analysing and synthesising data and play a key role in shaping our processes.

The role reports to the Cyber Program Lead in the Risk Services Division.
How you'll make an impact
- You support the team to plan and monitor tasks and set up and maintain service documents in the content management system.
- You monitor and action client and stakeholder enquiries.
- You support client engagement across VMIA's Cyber Service, including assisting with communications activities, planning, and managing events, and scheduling meetings.
- You act as the Secretariat for key meetings and prepare reporting on Cyber Service progress to the Senior and Executive Leadership Teams.
- You assist with system testing - User Acceptance Testing and Quality Assurance.
- You plan and support activities such as brainstorming, discovery sessions, scope definition, research, market research and options analysis across Cyber Service projects.
- You consult with key stakeholders including third party to test and gain feedback to ensure the implementation is in line with overall strategy deliverables
- You collect and analyse information from various sources to enable evaluation and inclusion into project funding documentation such as Project Briefs, Business Cases, Financial models, and Data Governance.
- You document and review information gathered from workshops, consultations, and various research methods to inform the requirements of the Cyber Service.
- You support reporting activities as required to achieve the objectives, such as presenting findings from data collected, progress updates, recommendations for action and minutes.
- You support identification and resolution of program issues and risks, including risk mitigation strategies, and offer viable solutions and opportunities as they arise.

Who you work with
- You work closely with the wider Harm Prevention team as well as other VMIA teams including Insurance, Insights and Analytics, Claims, Client Services Development Team, and Risk Advisory.
- You engage with external stakeholders including VMIA clients, Digital Victoria, Digital Health, Victorian Government Departments, OVIC, and the cyber security experts such as the Australian Cyber Security Centre.
- You report progress to seek and accept feedback from Steering Committees and business working groups.

About you
- You have demonstrated experience with planning and coordination of service/project delivery activities preferably within cyber services or an interest/exposure to cyber security.
- An aptitude of analysing, synthesising, and transforming data with the ability to translate information to support process improvement and decision making.
