As the Practice Manager you are responsible for the day to day clinic management and support of a multidisciplinary team on operational and clerical matters to achieve high quality solutions. The position is responsible for the process of continuous improvement, to ensure efficiency and effectiveness of systems (particularly testing and consulting systems and workflows) and procedures as they relate to the administration of the support services, clerical staff working in consulting, treatment and communication in order to achieve superior patient outcomes.

Where the position is located in a hospital, the incumbent will be required to liaise with external health staff including ward nurses, hospital staff, and other medical specialists, and members of the public.

What you’ll do:

- In collaboration with the Centre Leader, and the site based nurses, doctors and technicians, manage the day-to-day operations of the Practice to provide an efficient and smooth administrative service which supports the delivery of superior patient care at all times. The role will retain secretarial responsibilities for the practice doctors as well as responsibility for covering reception in line with practice requirements.
- Manage and maintain GenesisCare quality management standards for the clinic and participate in the development and implementation of strategies which improve clinic operation, reduce risk, and maintain a Duty of Care at all times to patients and staff.
- Work closely with key internal and external stakeholders, nurses, specialists and technicians to develop and maintain strong positive working relationships that enhance the delivery of superior patient care.
- Provide direction to, and management of, non-clinical practice staff and promote and role model a spirit of collaboration, cooperation and teamwork through effective leadership and people management strategies in line with GenesisCare HR policies and practices.
- Collaborate with clinical staff to ensure efficient and smooth operations of the Practice to support delivery of superior patient care.
- Work closely with the Resourcing and Workflow Manager, Area Manager and Team Leader (if relevant) to ensure the clinical requirements of the Practice are met including adequate staffing levels, providing feedback on performance etc.
- Foster the development of the team and develop resourcing flexibility and capability through communicating standards and expectations, providing training and coaching in key processes, monitoring performance and providing feedback and development opportunities.
- Undertake day-to-day financial management activities for the clinic.
- Ensure maintenance of the professional presentation of the clinic premises at all times, ensuring the smooth functioning of all office systems and equipment and that the cleanliness and up-keep of non-clinical equipment and facilities is maintained at all times and reflects the GenesisCare brand.

Who you are:

- Demonstrated understanding of and an ability to provide superior patient care and stakeholder customer service.
- Strong leadership skills with experience in leading and managing a team by inspiring confidence in and displaying behaviours in accordance with the organisation’s values.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with experience in liaising, influencing and negotiating with staff at all levels of an organisation.
- Demonstrated commercial acumen and experience in the development of local business plans to meet the objectives of the practice and its principals.
- Demonstrated experience in managing organisational systems and medical software technology to maximise productivity in the workplace.
- Exceptional organisation and communication skills with the ability to efficiently work simultaneously with numerous stakeholders under pressure.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to solve complex problems and the resilience to overcome obstacles and ensure the completion of committed actions.
- Some travel may be required between the Oncology NSW sites and there may be a requirement to provide short-term relief for other Practice Managers from time to time where an emergency arises
