We currently have an exciting opportunity as a Spatial Integration Manager within our Hunter Class Project, based in Osborne South Australia. Further your engineering management career by leading a multidiscipline team of designers delivering greenfields design integration for the Royal Australian Navy's new frigate.

In this integral role you will be in charge of delivering a spatial integration capability (3D modelling and system integration) at the Osborne Shipyard to undertake increasingly complex spatial integration work as part of BAE Systems Maritime Australia's commitment to establishing a continuous naval shipbuilding capability in Australia

**Your new role**:
You will be responsible for ensuring the spatially integrated design is developed, approved and maintained in accordance with approved company policies and procedures whilst meeting all agreed operational and regulatory requirements, including product safety and security.

**As a Spatial Integration Manager you will**:

- Supervise & co-ordinate the daily activities of the multidiscipline spatial integration team, working with a high degree of technical autonomy
- Engage with upstream stakeholders to understand completion status, identifying likely risks to spatial integration enablers
- Presentation of spatial integration delivery status and key risks or issues in relevant internal and external design reviews and management forums
- Identify potential risks to delivery, and develop and agree delivery mitigation plans with impacted stakeholders
- Take the leading role to actively manage the resolution of complex spatial integration issues with all relevant stakeholders (internal, external, customer)
- Contribute to the analysis on complex technical problems to create solutions where precedent may not exist
- Supervise, coach and mentor team members, ensuring they understand systems and protocols on tasks and ensure that their work is reviewed and approved
- Develop and maintain spatial integration activity estimates and delivery plans based on past trends and developing risks, communicating and/or negotiating agreed delivery commitments with spatial integration stakeholders
- Develop and maintain spatial integration performance metrics and reporting including schedule, cost, time and quality of work

About you

**As an ideal applicant for this opportunity, you'll have**:

- An Advanced Diploma or Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent
- Extensive experience within a relevant engineering discipline (mechanical/piping/hydraulics, structural, electrical/electronic/communication, HVAC) and an awareness of adjacent disciplines ideally within the maritime or wider defense industries, or within the heavy engineering, oil & gas, infrastructure or building services industries
- Demonstrated track record of successful management of multidiscipline engineering teams and delivery of complex technical outputs
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to independently balance competing priorities against customer and business requirements
- Strong computer literacy skills, including demonstrated experience with CAD (FORAN, AutoCAD, SOLIDWORKS, Investor, REVIT, etc.) and PLM (Windchill, Teamcenter, etc.) packages as well as intermediate to advanced competency with Microsoft packages e.g. Excel
- Previous Spatial Integration/Design Manager experience will be highly regarded
- Existing, or the ability to obtain, NV1 clearance and meet all require Export Control requirements

Clearances
As Defence security clearance is required for this role, applicants must be Australian citizens and eligible to obtain and maintain appropriate clearance.

International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) are applicable and as such, your nationality may be a factor in determining your suitability for this role.
