Equans has a unique and exciting AV traineeship available for someone who is looking to kickstart their career in the Audio Visual industry. As the AV technician Trainee you will perform technical work on audio visual systems under the supervision of a qualified tradesperson and in accordance with the company’s safety, quality and customer standards. Undertaking the traineeship will also require you to attend trade school in order to complete the off-the-job component of the certificate III in Communications.

**Responsibilities**:

- Assist their on-site supervisor / manager with installation, reading and interpreting drawings / specifications, programming, testing, and commissioning of various audio-visual systems across commercial building sites and premises
- Work with a team of Technicians, Tradesmen and Project Managers to successfully deliver audio-visual projects in accordance with Company standards and to meet project timeframes.
- Follow relevant codes and industry standards which govern audio-visual installation and maintenance
- Demonstrate competence in establishing and maintaining relationships with customers, colleagues and managers of the Company
- Ensure the appropriate and timely use of equipment and phone / handheld device (where supplied)
- Effectively manage administrative requirements including call reports and timesheets
- Attend call outs as per rostered requirements
- Demonstrate aptitude with audio visual and mechanical tools
- Understand written information and instructions and correspond clearly and concisely
- Understand inventory stock components used in the process of work and ensure parts are correctly booked out to the task
- Record work completed and job cost allocations on the timesheet, maintaining plant records, maintain a clean and tidy work are, ensuring all tools and equipment are kept clean and secure
- Other duties as required

**About you**:

- Year 12 (preferable)
- Pre-apprenticeship (Pre-App) AQF Certificate Level 2 in Electrotechnology preferred
- Construction induction card preferred
- Current Australian driver’s license advantageous
- Other qualifications as appropriate
- Some prior work experience in a trade or customer service role is beneficial but not mandatory
- Proficient in English and Mathematics
- Ability to climb a ladder
- Ability do overtime and shift work if required
- Pass a police check
- Drivers licence & access to a car
