We are seeking an exceptional **Environmental Practice Leader** **- Site Investigation and Remediation **in the **Sydney NSW **office.

**ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**

These are some of the key technical responsibilities for this position:

- Building, leading and growing a practice across the following areas: environmental site assessment, groundwater/soil/vapour/sediment characterisation, remediation options and scoping, contaminated site management, risk assessment and brownfield redevelopment;
- Responsibility for scoping, performing, assigning, and delivering multiple concurrent project assignments while following Geosyntec s risk and quality management systems;
- Identifying and developing successful client relationships and new business development opportunities with public and private clients on local, regional or national basis;
- Overseeing and managing projects and coordinating with other practices and/or offices to facilitate project delivery;
- Managing, coordinating, mentoring and developing staff;
- Project direction and/or technical review of deliverables
- Preparing technical reports, letters, plans, specifications, and proposals; and
- Preparing for and participating in meetings with clients, regulatory personnel, and other parties.

You may also be asked to take on project management responsibilities, along with group leadership, staff management, recruiting, and mentoring tasks.

**EDUCATION AND LICENSURE**
- Bachelor s degree in one or more of the following: environmental science, civil, or chemical engineering; or geology or hydrogeology. (required)
- Advanced degree in geology, environmental science, environmental engineering or related field (preferred)
- Certified Environmental Practitioner - SC (preferred)

**SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS**
- At least 10 years of experience in environmental consulting; or equivalent combination of education and experience. (required)
- Solid understanding of National and State environmental guidelines and legislation. (required)
- Proven track record in business development and project management experience. (required)
- Excellent leadership skills. (required)
- Demonstrated success in the development and management of clients. (required)
- Ability to succeed in a fast-paced consulting environment, handling multiple project assignments, meeting strict deadlines, and traveling to client facilities as needed. (required)
- Proven track record with building and leading a practice and group. (preferred)
- Proven track record with recruiting, developing and mentoring staff. (preferred)
- Current and valid work authorisation for Australia and a valid Australian driver s licence and satisfactory diving record for business travel. (required)
