Cammeray, Australia Actuate Accounting Full time

Enjoy the flexible, family-friendly work environment of a smaller firm with the career development opportunities you’d expect from a larger firm.
- Competitive remuneration package and hybrid work from home.
- Diverse, supportive and close-knit team on Sydney’s North Shore

Actuate Accounting is a busy, boutique accounting firm providing accounting and outsourced business services to clients across various industries.

We started Actuate Accounting as an alternative to the big accounting firms where all our directors launched their careers. Our aim is to offer the expertise and diversity of larger firms while providing the more efficient, proactive and personalised service you would expect of a smaller firm.

We believe action is the key to business and timely accounting information allows for better financial decisions. Our name derives from this goal, as actuate means ‘to put into action’, ‘drive’ and ‘motivate’.

We are now looking for a strong leader and experienced Supervisor who can deliver these same qualities to our clients, business and team.

**The Opportunity**

As a Supervisor at Actuate Accounting, you will be pivotal in leading and managing a team of accounting professionals to deliver high-quality accounting services to our clients. Your role involves overseeing the completion of client engagements, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and providing expert guidance and support to your team. You will act as a key liaison between clients and senior management, contributing to the firm's overall success and growth.

**On any given day you might**:

- Provide innovative accounting, finance and cashflow solutions for small to large businesses, as well as high-net-worth individuals
- Prepare and review financial statements, income tax returns, BAS & IAS, tax planning and business advice
- Prepare and review annual budgets and cashflow forecasts
- Prepare and review monthly management accounts and reports
- Review accounts receivable and accounts payable invoices, and review payroll functions, including timesheets, superannuation, employee leave, STP, payroll reconciliation & employee records
- Support clients with asset protection and tax and compliance advice
- Work closely with the directors and management team
- Supervise and mentor junior staff in a combined effort to improve our firm’s collective skill and knowledge.

**Your Skills, Qualifications and Experience**

Ideally, the successful applicant will check most of these boxes:

- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CA or equivalent professional certification preferred
- Minimum 5 years of relevant accounting experience
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and tax regulations
- Proven leadership and team management skills
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities
- Proficient in Cloud accounting software (Xero preferred) and Microsoft Office Suite
- Analytical thinking and problem-solving capabilities
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- High ethical standards and professional integrity
- Genuinely passionate about helping individuals and businesses.

**What We Offer**
- Competitive remuneration package with a range of employee benefits
- Diverse and close-knit team made up of 20 staff and 5 directors
- Inclusive, social and supportive office environment with a professional team
- Opportunities for career progression, learning and development
- Team social events throughout the year
- Family-friendly and flexible work options available, including work from home.

Please note our office is in Cammeray so you should consider if you are easily able to access the office by car or public transport. We will provide all the tech equipment necessary to perform your role either in the office or at home if required.

This is a role for a motivated, down-to-earth, and highly effective individual. If this sounds like a place where you can do your best work, we’d love to hear from you.

**To Apply**

Send your resume to Laura along with a short note introducing yourself and your suitability for the role.

We are proud to be an equal opportunity employer. In our experience, diverse teams make the strongest teams and we encourage people from all backgrounds to apply.

We look forward to hearing from you
