**Who are we looking for?**
Queensland University of Technology (QUT) is seeking a Business Associate, Industry Research to join Office of Research Services, Research Portfolio, Academic Division.
The Business Associate role supports QUT academic staff to develop high quality submission documentation for consultancies and commercial or sponsored research projects including clinical trial arrangements and will administer a variety of funded projects in accordance with the University's policies and procedures.

**About the Academic Division**
The Academic Division is responsible for supporting and delivering learning, teaching, research and research services to students and staff. This is realised via the Education and Research portfolios and through the work of our Faculties.
The Head of the Academic Division is the Deputy Vice-Chancellor and Vice-President (Academic), Professor Robina Xavier. Professor Xavier provides strategic oversight and financial management of the Division and provides leadership to the Education portfolio.
The Division’s Research portfolio and academic faculties, are led by the Senior Deputy Vice-Chancellor and Vice-President (Research), Professor Christopher Barner-Kowollik.
**About the Research Portfolio**
QUT has experienced the strongest, sustained research growth of any university in the sector over the last ten years. The scale and complexity of research at QUT has reached a level that requires enhanced processes and resources to support the University’s research community in meeting its aspirations and compliance obligations.
The Research Portfolio provides high quality support and training and conducts compliance and reporting across a range of obligations at an organisational level in an environment of dynamic growth in cross institutional collaborations.
**Office of Research Services (ORS)** works with QUT staff, students, collaborators, and partners to identify, attract and manage funding from competitive and commercial sources. The Office also manages the University’s research management platforms and coordinates internal and external research reporting.
**What you need to succeed**
You will demonstrate:
- Education, training and/or experience equivalent to postgraduate qualifications or progress towards postgraduate qualifications in a relevant discipline in conjunction with extensive experience in a commercial or government related environment.
- Demonstrated experience in assisting with the review and evaluation of opportunities and the preparation of proposals and responses to tenders targeting various government departments and private industry organisations, and managing associated commercial interactions.
- Demonstrated experience reviewing and negotiating legal contracts and agreements.
- Demonstrated knowledge of commercial project establishment and administration in a university or business environment.
- Demonstrated high-level interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral, including the ability to liaise effectively with internal and external clients to negotiate successful outcomes.
- Demonstrated analytical approach to problem solving.
