The Manager, Regulatory Services is responsible for leading the Technical and Regulation policy and regulatory team within the Office of the State Building Surveyor to oversee the research, development and implementation of building and plumbing regulations and the provision of regulatory advice. This includes staying abreast of legislative, social, regulatory and technical changes and liaising with a wide range of stakeholders.
To be successful in this position you will demonstrated experience working in a regulatory setting and have tertiary qualifications in policy, law, management, leadership or a building related discipline.
Who we are looking for
- Demonstrated experience working in a legislative or regulatory environment and/or in a relevant industry profession, and understanding of the workings of Government administrative processes.
- Substantial experience in managing teams and coordinating projects and resources including associated budgets and developing the capability of the team through ongoing performance planning and management, coaching, feedback and participation in development objectives.
- Strong stakeholder relationship skills and the ability to understand stakeholder requirements and develop innovative solutions to issues and to negotiate strategic outcomes.
- Extensive written communication skills with demonstrated ability to prepare clear, concise and accurate reports, briefing memoranda and recommendations on complex issues.

- As a public sector and service standard, generally all new employees will start at the base entry level and increment throughout the salary range each year based on performance. Current public sector employees at the same grade will be considered for a transfer of entitlements with evidence. A request above entry level may be considered in certain circumstances.
