**Job Description** We are looking for a Operational Risk SME, Lead on a 12-month contract basis, to drive the operational risk stream deliverables.**

**What is this role about?**

Acting as the conduit, you will ensure the Risk transformation program outcomes are operationalised and embedded in a sustainable manner across (but not limited to):

- ** CPS 230 implementation**
- Be responsible for driving effective design, implement and embedding Operational Risk Management Framework in line with CPS 230, industry best practices and operating environment in line with three lines of defence for the program.
- ** Framework uplift**
- Drive uplift of risk policies/standards as required in line Program objectives
- Play a crucial role as the Operational Risk SME in Program Diamond to ensure that the risk framework design is fit for purpose and suitable to Cuscal’s business and operational environment and ways of working
- Steer effective implementation of design implementation by partnering with relevant stakeholders internally to ensure program outcomes are operationalised and embedded
- Integrate program outcomes into the broader enterprise risk management framework
- Ensure the continuous improvement of risk management practices by engaging with business units to provide constructive feedback and challenge assumptions as they refresh and uplift risk profiles
- ** Risk Governance and Risk capability uplift (incl. 3LoA)**
- Clarify roles and responsibilities across 3LoD and risk governance across Op. risk stream milestones
- Act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership and business units on operational risk related matters for the program
- Drive education and training programs to elevate operational risk awareness and capabilities across the organisation.
- Design and roll out Risk academy with QRGs, training programs in partnership with change management for sustaining risk capability
- ** GRC system design and implementation**
- Pivotal role in the design of system requirements and rolling out changes to ensure system readiness to uplift risk profiles
- Ensure the effective use of risk management systems and tools for the tracking, monitoring, and reporting of operational risks.

**Qualifications** What can you bring?**

**Essential**:

- 7 years + of experience in operational risk management within the finance and banking industry
- Solid understanding of relevant laws and regulations, industry codes, standards, prudential requirements
- Demonstrated experience in operational risk and compliance roles, in the financial services sector, including the design and implementation of effective risk and compliance management frameworks, and a sound knowledge of APRA prudential standards.
- Demonstrated experience in building risk and compliance maturity and capability across the first and second lines of defence and experience/exposure to better industry practice
- Strong inter-personal and communication skills with the ability to build effective workplace relationships.
- Ability to work with a high degree of autonomy and be able to demonstrate sound judgment.
- Strong leadership and management skills.
- Proficient in executing change management activities
- Although not required, any experience or knowledge in the following would be highly desirable:_
- Experience within retail banking or payments
