**The Role**
The role reports within the Technical Assurance functional area of Army Aviation Systems Program Office (AASPO).

The position works within the AASPO technical assurance team and with the external service provider. The position is responsible for conducting technical and engineering audits relating to the safe operation of Army helicopters, the raising and management of corrective action reports and preparing reports for various governance committees.

The key responsibilities of the position will require the occupant to:

- Conduct audits of programs, processes, systems and functions to identify risks facing Defence are appropriately addressed and managed.
- Assist in the research, planning and conduct of audits, preparation of papers and reports and discussion of findings with stakeholders.
- Analyse evidence and assist in the identification of audit findings and the development of recommendations and preparation of papers and reports which address the causes and consequences of identified issues and risk.
- Investigate issues and opportunities that contribute to continuous improvement and management of the audit functions and as part of this process, provide suggestions for improvements.
- Ensure all audit evidence is appropriately collated, documented and stored.

**About our Team**
The Technical Governance and Assurance Business Unit within AASPO, is responsible for the development and management of logistics, engineering, risk and WHS governance programs, to deliver assurance outcomes for the organisation.

The Technical Assurance officer will work within a small team of auditors and perform technical audits on our Industry Partner to ensure compliance against Defence Aviation Safety Regulations. This team is also responsible for the technical assurance of Industry partner deliverables and managing corrective action reports to improve programs and increase performance.
