Team Leader

We have more than 140 technical dams people in Australia and growing numbers globally, particularly throughout the Americas, United Kingdom, within Asia and New Zealand.

We have investigated, designed, or supervised the construction of more dams in Australia than any other Australian firm of non-government consulting engineers. The size of these dams varies from small dams designed for local community towns to large, significant water supply dams for large city water supply or industrial use.

Currently, we have an exciting opportunity for a **Team Leader **to join our group, offering a rewarding leadership position. By joining us, you'll become part of a highly experienced team with a renowned reputation in the industry. You'll have the chance to work on diverse projects involving renewable energies, resources and water infrastructure.

Drawing on your engineering qualifications and previous experience in consulting, you will be empowered and accountable for leading your own team. Your role will be pivotal in leading cutting-edge projects, collaborating with industry experts, and executing the objectives outlined in the Business Group Plan and Region Business Plan.

You will be closely with and under direction of the Business Group Leader. Your leadership will be crucial in guiding, developing, and mentoring team members, while effectively managing their workload. By working closely with other leaders within the organization and fostering strong relationships with clients, you will actively pursue new opportunities to secure work for your team, thus ensuring your success in this role.

**This key position will provide a balance of leadership, technical work and project management, and will see you involved in**:

- Mentoring, training & investing in the development of your team members
- Identifying, winning & delivering exceptional projects
- Project & design management, from strategic assessments through detailed design
- Embedding sustainability principles into our work in accordance with GHD’s commitment to advancing our Sustainable Development Goals
- Collaborating with local, national & international colleagues

**We are looking for**:

- Appropriate civil, geotechnical or equivalent degree, ideally supported by a minimum of 10 years’ relevant solutions-focused design and project delivery experience
- Deep relevant industry knowledge in dams engineering, including long-term challenges, combined with strategy development skills
- A passion for problem solving, to help develop sustainable solutions
- Genuinely enjoy engaging with collaborators at all levels - team, peers, colleagues, leaders, clients
- Proactive, professional, collaborative and personable approach
- High-level market awareness, commercial acumen and business development skills, with well-established personal relationships across the relevant industry sector
