**The Role**
The Directorate of Policing and Security - Navy is responsible for the provision of strategic level advice on security and policing matters, and policy. The Future Capability Team is responsible for assuring the delivery of secure capability to RAN platforms, and ensures a pathway for capabilities to achieve security certification and accreditation.

We are seeking a committed and innovative individual to join the team. The APS 5 Security Advisor will be expected to exercise initiative and judgement in undertaking activities that require timeliness, ongoing stakeholder management and attention to detail. They may exercise some discretion with respect to how legislation, procedures and guidelines are interpreted and applied to their work.

Duties include but are not limited to the delivery of security assurance to shipbuilding projects and system upgrades through the One Defence Capability System in conjunction with National Shipbuilding and Sustainment Group Enterprise Security Branch, answering moderately complex protective security inquiries to assist stakeholders and research, data collection and analysis to draft reports, publications, papers and submissions.

**About our Team**
Our mission is the provision of secure capability to support Navy platforms to fight and win at sea. The DPS-N Future Capability Team is responsible for assuring the delivery of secure capability to RAN platform, provides security assurance to capabilities and ensures a pathway for capabilities to achieve physical security certification and accreditation.

We are the Security Cross-FIC Assurance Requirement Leads to Navy Capability projects, identify and engaging with all Navy Capability projects requiring security input, and enable Navy Capability through provision of security advice to Capability Projects from the initial design phase to through to delivery.

They will provide detailed security technical, professional and policy advice in relation to moderately complex work, take into consideration Navy's operational and safety of life at sea requirements in the design of platforms, and contribute to planning, program and project management and policy development.
