UX/UI Designer

The Department of Premier and Cabinet has an exciting opportunity for an experienced UX/UI Designer to join the Victorian Centre for Data Insights (VCDI).
VCDI has a whole-of-government role in leading the transformation of the VPS through data driven insights. It is helping to transform the way the Victorian Government uses data to inform policy making and service design on issues that cut across portfolios and are of whole-of-government significance.
As the UX/UI Designer, you will provide expert UX/UI services on multiple data capability uplift projects and programs.
On a day-to-day basis, you will showcase your skills and experience in human centred design when identifying problems and designing solutions for our customers.
Working in an agile, cross-functional team, you will collaborate with others to enhance the presentation of data insight products, reports and presentations. You are passionate about translating research insights, public data and technical requirements into solution prototypes, whether storyboarding, low fidelity paper sketching or high fidelity interactive wireframes.
The UX/UI Designer has a strong desire to make things better while inspiring and influencing their peers on this journey.
About you
- Demonstrated experience in UX/UI design environments
- Analytical, problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Strong communication skills and experience requirement-gathering skills through a range of methods
- Ability to understand concepts and technologies with contemporary data analytics and delivery of effective user outcomes
- Ability to work and contribute to an Agile worflow
