Manager Institutional Markets

As a manager in Institutional Markets Section, you will play a key role in overseeing Domestic Market Department’s analysis of household and business financial conditions, bank funding costs and the transmission of monetary policy. This will include leading analysis of the cost, access and volume of finance in domestic institutional markets (i.e. non-capital markets), and using insights from these activities to ensure Domestic Markets Department delivers high-quality policy advice to executive management and the Board. You will lead and develop individuals and teams to achieve goals and deliver RBA outcomes, ensuring compliance with relevant Bank policies.
Your background
We are looking for a thoughtful and effective leader with strong skills in communication, analysis, strategic thinking and workflow management. To be successful in this role you will have:
- Strong critical thinking skills to guide and produce analysis on matters related to household and business finance, bank funding costs and monetary policy transmission.- Good organisational and time management skills.- A demonstrated ability to communicate clearly with the intended audience in mind.- Experience in leading people and coaching junior staff.- A proven ability to manage internal and external relationships, including working collaboratively with other sections and communicating with other government agencies.- Post graduate qualifications in economics or related field.
Key Objectives- Contribute to the broader strategic direction and leadership of Institutional Markets Section and Domestic Markets Department, sharing accountability with other leaders for overall performance of deliverables and outcomes to meet the needs of the Bank.- Lead the team’s analysis on matters related to household and business financial conditions, bank funding costs and monetary policy transmission, working collaboratively with other sections in the RBA and liaising with other government agencies as appropriate.- Lead, guide and develop individuals and teams to effectively achieve department and organisational outcomes.- Work flexibly with section management to plan and prioritise in response to evolving work pressures.- Look for and implement efficiency improvements as appropriate.
