The Risk Manager provides the Accountable Authority, Senior Management team and internal committees with appropriate advice and reporting to ensure risk is embedded within decision making. They work across all levels of the Mint’s risk management framework (Strategic, Enterprise and Operational) to ensure the framework’s operational success by assisting each work group with their unique challenges.

The Risk Manager undertakes initiatives to ensure the Mint’s risk management framework is fit for purpose, understood, consistently applied, robust, transparent and well managed. They are pivotal to supporting a healthy risk management culture.

The duties of this position include:
1. Leading the Mint’s risk management function and the day-to-day operation of the risk management framework.
3. Leading or participating in the development of risk assessment and management strategies at all organisation risk levels.
4. Developing and refining the Mint’s risk management framework including drafting policies, procedures and work instructions.
5. Supporting the administration of a risk management information system.
6. Evaluating, auditing and reporting on risk management measures and outcomes such as appetite, tolerance, and control effectiveness and maturity.
7. Ensuring the risk management function operates cohesively within the Mint’s Integrated Management System.
8. Participating in risk-related and Mint-related forums, events, and working groups internally and externally.
9. Ensuring compliance with any requirements of the Australian Public Service.
10. Supervising team members and working collegiately with others in the Branch to achieve operational goals.

**Security clearance**
This position requires a **Baseline** security clearance. The successful applicant will be required to obtain and maintain a clearance at this level.
