**About the Role**

As General Manager, you will be at the helm of our council, driving policies and initiatives that align with our vision for growth and development. Working closely and collaboratively with councillors is a critical element for this position. Your ability to engage effectively with local businesses, and residents to create sustainable, innovative solutions that enhance the community’s well-being is essential for fostering long-term growth, resilience, and a thriving local economy. This role requires a leader who can inspire a diverse workforce, foster stakeholder relationships, and advocate for the council at all levels.

**What You’ll Be Doing**
- Shaping and implementing strategic plans and policies that drive positive change and sustainable growth in the LGA.
- Overseeing governance, financial management, and risk assessment to ensure transparency and accountability.
- Strengthening connections between residents, businesses, and government agencies to enhance community engagement, foster economic growth, and create a more vibrant and sustainable local economy.
- Leading and motivating a multidisciplinary team towards operational excellence.
- Managing council resources efficiently to support long-term sustainability.

**What We’re Looking For**

You will have proven leadership experience in local government, public administration, or a comparable environment with strong knowledge of governance frameworks, legislative requirements, and financial stewardship.

With a strong track record of delivering strategic initiatives and managing complex operations, your exceptional communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills will complement your collaborative and inspiring leadership style with a deep commitment to community development.

A tertiary qualification in business, public administration, or a related field is highly desirable.
