**About this position**

Join the team that keeps the City's urban forest thriving.

The Team Leader - Urban Forest will lead a skilled team in establishing and maintaining the City's urban forest and streetscapes areas, providing expert advice, while championing safety and delivering operational excellence.
- Plan and implement operational maintenance activities, including the development and adherence to work schedules.
- Undertake pre-start checks, update maintenance schedules, and report on the completion of works.
- Support staff development, manage performance and growth under the guidance of the Supervisor Streescapes.
- Take ownership of team and public safety, ensuring all works are carried out with vigilance, compliance and care.
- Manage risks by promoting safe work practices, performing preventative checks and maintenance, and reporting hazards

**What we are looking for**

To be successful, you must be able to demonstrate:

- Experience leading a horticultural or arboriculture maintenance team.
- Ability to work effectively and collaboratively as a team member.
- Strong problem-solving skills in streetscape maintenance.
- Ability to lead by example, empower and motivate teams.

**Essential requirements**
- Certificate III or higher in Horticulture, Arboriculture or equivalent.
- Current MR driver's licence
- White Card

**Desirable requirements**:

- Operator tickets for operating machinery such as Loader, Forklift and Chainsaw.
- Basic Worksite Traffic Management.
