**About the Role**

The Case Review Team within DTP is responsible for conducting ‘internal reviews’ of public transport and clearway infringementnotices.The Case Review Officerreports into the Senior Case Review Officer andis responsible for undertaking investigations andassessmentsofrequests for internal review in relation toinfringements issued by DTP.

This will include:

- reviewing matters on a case-by-case basis and forming consistent and evidence-based decisions, in accordance with governing legislation, policies and guidelines;
- conducting relevant team administration to facilitate the conduct of internal reviews; and
- contributing to other branch initiatives, deliverables, projects and other tasks as required (and directed to undertake)from time to time

**Position Outcomes**
The Case Review Officer is responsible for conducting investigations and assessments, making decisions on requests for internal reviews concerning public transport offenses. They collaborate with various teams to ensure compliance with legislation and regulations, provide accurate information and advice, and follow policies for successful prosecution. This involves preparing correspondence, maintaining relationships with stakeholders, and striving for regulatory excellence while upholding ethical standards. Additionally, they actively contribute to improving systems and procedures for effective regulatory activities within the branch.
- Statutory interpretation(foundational)-Applies knowledge of current legislation to relevant business problems and opportunities. Reads and interprets Acts and subordinate legislation with reference to their structure and operative provisions.
- Critical thinking & problem solving(foundational)-Seeks resolution of problems through policy or process guidelines;Otherwise seeks guidance by providing information and ideas relevant towards resolution ofproblem. Understandsconcepts enabling improvements in critical thinking and problem solving
- Stakeholder management(foundational)-Responds to clients’ needs; Keeps the client or stakeholder up to date withissues and developments; Promptly follows through on inquiries, requests and complaints; Takes responsibility forcorrecting problems promptly
